Daniel Makina is Professor of Finance at the University of South Africa who holds a PhD from Wits University. He is an NRF-rated researcher who has published extensively in peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Notably, he contributed the chapter titled, “The mortgage market, character and trends: Africa” in the International Encyclopaedia of Housing and Home published by Elsevier in 2012. He also edited the special issue of the African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences on Financial Services in Africa published in 2017 as well as the book –Extending Financial Inclusion in Africa -published by Elsevier in 2019. He is a Fellow of the South African Institute of Financial Markets (SAIFM) and regularly contributes to its magazine.
