Lesiba Mothata

Lesiba Mothata is the Lead Financial Markets Specialist at the South African Reserve Bank, bringing over 22 years of experience across asset management, economics, risk management, and executive leadership. His career spans roles at Alexforbes, Investec Bank, and Nedbank, complemented by senior positions such as chief economist, head of strategic clients, and chief executive officer of an emerging asset management firm.

A Harvard Business School General Management Programme graduate, Chartered Global Management Accountant (CIMA), and holder of a master’s degree in financial economics, Lesiba is also an alumnus of the University of the Witwatersrand. He contributes extensively to governance structures, serving on the Wits Foundation Board of Governors and its Audit and Investment Committees.
