Thabile Omoighe is Strate’s Head of Regulation and Supervision, a position she has held since 2024. An admitted attorney with 14 years’ experience, she brings extensive expertise in strategic legal, data privacy, regulatory, commercial and compliance advisory services.

Thabile joined Strate in 2014 and progressed through several roles in the Legal Department, ultimately serving as Senior Legal Counsel where she implemented Strate’s regulatory, legal and commercial strategy.

She then served as Strate’s Head of Compliance, overseeing regulatory and compliance discipline across Strate and its subsidiaries. In this role, Thabile led the implementation of the data privacy framework under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013, and developed the anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and anti-bribery and corruption compliance programmes.

For the past ten years, Thabile has been involved with Strate’s Regulatory and Supervisory Committee, initially in her legal counsel capacity, subsequently as Head of Compliance, and now in her role as Head of Regulation and Supervision, supporting the Committee in discharging its regulatory and supervisory obligations. She previously worked at Fasken Martineau Attorneys.

Thabile obtained an LLB at the University of Pretoria in 2009 and was admitted as an attorney in 2012. She holds several professional qualifications, including certificates in Compliance Management from the University of Johannesburg (with distinction) and in Data Privacy and Technology from Harvard Business School Online. Thabile has completed the Leadership Acceleration Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, as well as various compliance programmes through the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa and Strate’s Equities Module (with distinction).
