Thomas John (Sean) Coetzee

Sean is a seasoned financial markets professional with over 38 years of experience
spanning equities, derivatives, forex, CFDs, money markets and digital assets. He
founded Khwezi Financial Services in 2013, serving as CEO, Director and Key Individual
across both Category I and II licences, and later guided the organisation through its
transition to ATFX Global, where he continued as CEO and Director of the ODP until
2025.
Sean has extensive regulatory expertise, having acted as Internal Compliance Officer and
FIC AML/ATF Officer for more than a decade, and has completed RE1, RE3 and RE5. A
long-standing member of the South African Institute of Financial Markets (Fellow since
2018), he has been registered with the JSE since 1998 and previously traded on the JSE
open outcry floor and SAFEX.
His career includes senior roles at Velocity Trade, Afrifocus Securities, GT247 and Totlisa Securities and was on
the institutional desk at Nedcor Investment Bank, focusing on institutional sales, client engagement and
high-volume trade execution. He has also developed and delivered market education programmes, including a
Technical Analysis course and recent training related to cryptocurrency and blockchain.
Outside of financial markets, Sean maintains a strong personal interest in music, reading, sport shooting and
paragliding.
